Open-channel non-contact Flow Monitoring (Weirs)

• The Wildeye Open-channel Flow monitoring solution enables automated recording and viewing of flow rates in ditches & canals by measuring flow across weirs directly on your phone and in high resolution.

• The package is designed for simple installation to many existing types of weir configurations with a high accuracy & maintenance-free operation.

• Precisely measures the water level (stage) at a designated location upstream of the weir to compute flow using the weir's stage-discharge relationship. The weir’s ratings table is stored within the Wildeye software and automatically converts the water level height to flow rate and volume graphs.

• The components are selected for their rugged waterproof construction to allow for long-life outdoor installation.

Installation

Installation requires 4G IoT signal is available at site, and the Wildeye phone app must be downloaded and used to capture data during the installation. 

The radar sensor is mounted on a bracket (various types available) over-hanging the body of water, slightly upstream of the weir. The weir rating tables are uploaded to the Wildeye website, and flowrate is calculated.

Connectivity

Web-connectivity uses open-standard Cat-M1 or NB-IoT on 4G cellular networks.

Wildeye packages utilize telco-delivered cellular networks to avoid reliance on first-generation radio networks and technologies that are delivered and maintained by small businesses.

Software & Data Access

Data from Wildeye products is available on-demand via web services including web-based software, our industry-leading smartphone app, as well as via “push services” such as exports, email and SMS alerts.
