Alarm escalation using alarm recipient lists
Note: These features can only be accessed by Client Admin users. Your Wildeye devices may be managed by a third party as a service.
Overview
Alarm recipient lists are set up in the Recipient List sub menu of the Client Settings menu.
The contact details of alarm recipients can be managed in recipient lists to make it easier to change contact details without having to edit every alarm a user receives.
Recipient lists also allow for alarm escalation. When an alarm is delivered to an SMS or Email in a recipient list it is sent with a URL to enable the recipient to acknowledge and alarm. If an alarm is acknowledged by a user then the alarm will not escalate to the next level. A recipient list can have 2 levels of escalation with custom wait times to receive an acknowledgment before escalation.
Creating a Recipient List
In the Alarm recipient list submenu of the Settings menu, click the link "Add new alarm recipient list"
You are prompted to enter the following:
Name The Name of the alarm recipient list. This name will then appear in any alarm that is created in alarm section of the Input settings.
Description An optional description to explain the intended audience of the recipient list.
Scope This should generally be set to "Client". If you have a large fleet of Wildeye devices and make use of Group logins then you can optionally select "Group" or "Site" to limit available recipient lists to some users.
Client/Group/Site Depending on the Scope selected, you can select which object to attach the recipient list to.
After selecting the Add button you will be prompted to add recipients to the list.
Recipients have the following properties:
Name The name of the person receiving the alarm.
Email The email address of the person receiving the alarm. There is also a select box to enable or disable receiving an email.
Mobile The mobile phone number of the person receiving an SMS alarm. There is also a select box to enable or disable receiving an SMS.
Level The alarm level that this recipient will receive. Where 1 is the level sent immediately on triggering of an alarm, and 2 is the escalation level that will only be sent if no recipient in level 1 acknowledges the receipt of a level 1 alarm via the URL.
Delay The custom amount of time that you wish to give level 1 recipients time to acknowledge before escalation of the alarm to level 2 recipients.
